Blue Grotto Guide
Azure Wonder: Experience the Magic of the Blue Grotto Guide
Prepare to be enchanted by the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), a sea cave on the coast of Capri, renowned for its mesmerizing blue light. This natural wonder is a must-see for anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast, offering a unique and unforgettable experience. The intense blue hue is created by sunlight passing through an underwater cavity, illuminating the cave's interior with an ethereal glow. The Blue Grotto has been known since Roman times, when it was used as a private swimming pool by Emperor Tiberius. However, it was later forgotten and only rediscovered in the 19th century. Since then, it has become one of Capri's most popular tourist attractions, drawing visitors from around the world to witness its magical beauty. To enter the Blue Grotto, you'll need to take a small rowboat from the entrance. Lie back in the boat as your oarsman expertly navigates through the narrow opening, and prepare to be amazed as you enter the cave and are bathed in the stunning blue light. The experience is short but incredibly memorable. While on Capri, indulge in the island's culinary delights, including fresh seafood, Caprese salad (tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil), and limoncello, a lemon liqueur made from local lemons.
