Transportation
Reaching Tawang Monastery requires travel to Tawang town first. The nearest airport is Tezpur Airport (TEZ) in Assam, from where you can hire a taxi or take a shared Sumo to Tawang. The journey is long and can take around 12-14 hours due to the mountainous terrain and road conditions. You'll need an Inner Line Permit (ILP) to enter Arunachal Pradesh, which can be obtained online or from designated offices. From Tawang town, the monastery is easily accessible by taxi or auto-rickshaw.
