Pangong Tso's unique beauty is due to its high altitude (approximately 4,350 meters or 14,270 feet) and the mineral-rich water. The lake gained further popularity after being featured in several Bollywood films, attracting tourists from all over the world. Visiting Pangong Tso is all about soaking in the natural beauty and enjoying the serenity of the surroundings. You can take a leisurely walk along the shoreline, capture stunning photographs of the lake and mountains, or simply sit and meditate by the water's edge. Remember to acclimatize to the high altitude before engaging in any strenuous activities. While in the region, be sure to try the local Ladakhi cuisine, known for its hearty stews, momos (dumplings), and thukpa (noodle soup), perfect for warming up in the cold mountain air.
