The primary activity at Deoria Tal is trekking. The trek to the lake is relatively easy, making it suitable for beginners and families. Camping is permitted near the lake, allowing visitors to experience the magic of the Himalayas under a starlit sky. While there are no restaurants directly at Deoria Tal, basic food and tea are available at the nearby village of Sari, the starting point of the trek. You can also find simple meals at campsites. Local cuisine includes dishes like dal (lentils), rice, roti (Indian bread), and sabzi (vegetable curry).
Transportation
To reach Deoria Tal, you first need to reach Chopta. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun (approximately 226 km away). From Dehradun, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Ukhimath. From Ukhimath, you can hire a shared jeep or taxi to Sari village, which is the base camp for the Deoria Tal trek. The trek from Sari to Deoria Tal is approximately 2.5 km and takes about 2-3 hours. Buses from Dehradun to Ukhimath are available from the ISBT (Inter State Bus Terminal).
