While Badrinath doesn't have a unique culinary tradition distinct from the wider Uttarakhand region, be sure to try local Garhwali dishes like Aloo ke Gutke (potato dish) and Singal (a sweet snack) at the nearby eateries.
Transportation
Reaching Badrinath, the town where the Alaknanda flows, is primarily by road. Buses and taxis are readily available from major cities in Uttarakhand like Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun. The nearest railway station is Rishikesh, about 300 km away. From Rishikesh, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Badrinath. The journey is scenic but can be long and winding, so plan accordingly. During the Yatra season, the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation (UTC) operates regular bus services to Badrinath.
