Querim Beach (Keri Beach) Guide

Escape to Tranquility at Querim Beach Guide

Querim Beach, also known as Keri Beach, is a hidden gem located in North Goa, just north of Arambol. Unlike the more crowded beaches, Querim offers a serene and secluded escape. Its pristine sands, swaying palm trees, and calm waters make it an ideal spot for relaxation and tranquility. The beach is also known for its picturesque views of the Terekhol Fort across the river. Querim Beach doesn't have a long or particularly eventful history compared to some other Goan beaches. Its appeal lies in its unspoiled natural beauty and relative isolation. It has remained largely untouched by mass tourism, preserving its peaceful atmosphere. The presence of the Terekhol Fort nearby, however, adds a historical dimension to the area, as the fort played a significant role in the region's defense during Portuguese rule. Activities at Querim Beach are centered around relaxation and enjoying the natural surroundings. Swimming is generally safe in the calm waters, and sunbathing on the soft sand is a popular pastime. You can also take a ferry across the Terekhol River to visit the Terekhol Fort. For the adventurous, there are opportunities for paragliding and other water sports. While Querim Beach itself doesn't have a specific culinary tradition, you can find small shacks serving fresh seafood and Goan specialties. Try the fish curry rice or the prawn balchao for a taste of local flavors.

Transportation

The easiest way to reach Querim Beach is by scooter or taxi from Arambol. Follow the road north from Arambol, and you'll reach Querim in about 15-20 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a local bus from Mapusa to Querim. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the beach. Ferry service is available to cross the Terekhol River to reach the fort.
