Perlan Guide
Perlan: Wonders of Iceland Under One Dome Guide
Perlan, or "The Pearl," is a distinctive landmark in Reykjavik, offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscapes. Housed within a striking glass dome atop six massive hot water tanks, Perlan is more than just a viewpoint. It's an interactive museum showcasing Iceland's natural wonders, from glaciers and volcanoes to the Northern Lights. Originally built as hot water storage tanks in the 1980s, Perlan was transformed into a multi-functional building in the early 1990s. The vision was to create a space that celebrated Iceland's natural beauty and provided a unique experience for visitors. The glass dome was added, and the interior was redesigned to house exhibits, a planetarium, and a restaurant. At Perlan, you can explore a real ice cave, learn about Iceland's glaciers through interactive exhibits, and witness a stunning Northern Lights show in the planetarium. The observation deck offers breathtaking 360-degree views of Reykjavik, the mountains, and the ocean. The Út í bláinn restaurant on the top floor provides a fine dining experience with incredible vistas. The gift shop offers a variety of Icelandic souvenirs and crafts.
