Transportation

Vondugil Valley is best accessed from Landmannalaugar. If you've arrived in Landmannalaugar via bus, you can easily hike to the valley. The trails are well-marked, but it's always a good idea to have a map and compass or GPS device. If you're driving a 4x4 vehicle to Landmannalaugar, you can park there and hike into the valley. Remember to check road conditions and river crossing depths before attempting to drive to Landmannalaugar. From the Landmannalaugar campsite, follow the marked trails heading east. The hike to Vondugil Valley is relatively easy and takes approximately 1-2 hours.
