Transportation
Reaching the "Into the Glacier" base camp typically involves a combination of self-driving and specialized glacier vehicles. From Reykjavik, drive north on Route 1 (the Ring Road) and then turn onto Route 50 towards Husafell. The drive takes approximately 2-3 hours. From Husafell, you'll need to book a tour that includes transportation in a modified glacier vehicle, as regular cars cannot navigate the rugged terrain leading to the glacier's entrance.
