Transportation
The Kourtaliotiko Gorge is easily accessible by car from Plakias. Follow the road north towards Rethymno. The gorge is well-signposted. There is a parking area at the top of the gorge, near the church of Agios Nikolaos. From there, you can descend into the gorge via the hiking trail. Buses also run from Plakias to nearby villages, from which you can walk to the gorge entrance.
