Elia Beach Guide
Elia Beach: Mykonos's Glamorous Getaway Guide
Welcome to Elia Beach, the longest sandy beach on Mykonos and a haven for sun-seekers and water sports enthusiasts! Known for its soft golden sand, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant atmosphere, Elia offers a more relaxed vibe than some of the island's more party-centric beaches, while still maintaining a chic and sophisticated ambiance. Whether you're looking to unwind on a sunbed, take a refreshing dip in the Aegean Sea, or indulge in some thrilling water activities, Elia Beach promises an unforgettable Mykonian experience. Elia Beach is well-organized with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas available for rent. Several beach bars and restaurants line the shore, offering a wide range of refreshments, from refreshing cocktails and ice-cold beers to delicious Greek cuisine and international favorites. The beach is also known for being one of the most gay-friendly beaches on Mykonos, with a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. Beyond sunbathing and swimming, Elia Beach offers a variety of water sports, including jet skiing, windsurfing, and parasailing. You can also take a boat trip to nearby islands or secluded coves. For a truly unique experience, consider trying the "flyboard," which allows you to soar above the water using jet propulsion. After a day of fun in the sun, be sure to stick around for the stunning sunset views over the Aegean Sea.
Transportation
The most convenient way to reach Elia Beach is by bus from Mykonos Town (Chora). Buses depart regularly from the Fabrika bus station. The journey takes approximately 30-45 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or rent a car or scooter. Water taxis also operate from other beaches on the island, offering a scenic route to Elia.
