Transportation
Reaching Zakros Palace requires a bit of planning. The most common way is by car, driving along the coastal road from Sitia or Ierapetra. The drive offers stunning views of the Cretan landscape. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Sitia to Zakros village, and then either walk or take a taxi to Kato Zakros (approximately 7km). Be aware that bus schedules can be limited, especially outside of peak season, so check the timetables in advance.
