Babelsberg Park was designed in the mid-19th century by Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau and later refined by Peter Joseph Lenné, two of Germany's most renowned landscape architects. The park was commissioned by Prince Wilhelm, later Emperor Wilhelm I, and his wife Augusta. The Babelsberg Palace, a neo-Gothic masterpiece, served as their summer residence. The park's design incorporates elements of English landscape gardening, creating a naturalistic and romantic atmosphere. Visitors to Babelsberg Park can enjoy a variety of activities. Explore the winding pathways that lead through the park's diverse landscapes, discover hidden grottos and fountains, and admire the panoramic views of the Havel River. Take a guided tour of the Babelsberg Palace to learn about its history and architecture. Consider a boat trip on the Havel River to experience the park from a different perspective. While Babelsberg Park doesn't have a specific culinary tradition, the nearby Babelsberg district offers a range of restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a meal or a snack. Look for traditional German dishes or explore international options.
