Transportation
The most common way to reach Stepantsminda, the town at the base of Mount Kazbek, is by marshrutka (minibus) from Didube bus station in Tbilisi. Marshrutkas depart frequently throughout the day, especially during peak season. The journey takes approximately 3-4 hours. Alternatively, you can hire a taxi or private car from Tbilisi, which offers more flexibility and comfort. Once in Stepantsminda, you can hire a local taxi or 4x4 vehicle to reach the Gergeti Trinity Church.
