Nallikari Beach Guide
Sun, Sand, and Sea: Enjoy the Arctic Riviera Guide
Nallikari Beach, located just a few kilometers from the city center of Oulu, is one of Finland's most popular beaches. Often referred to as the "Arctic Riviera," Nallikari offers a beautiful stretch of sandy beach, clear waters, and a variety of activities for visitors of all ages. Whether you're looking to relax on the beach, swim in the sea, or enjoy some water sports, Nallikari has something for everyone. While Nallikari Beach is a natural feature, its development as a recreational area has been a gradual process. Over the years, the city of Oulu has invested in improving the beach's facilities, adding amenities such as changing rooms, showers, playgrounds, and restaurants. The beach has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists, especially during the summer months when the weather is warm and sunny. At Nallikari Beach, you can enjoy a variety of activities. Relax on the sandy beach and soak up the sun. Take a refreshing dip in the sea (the water temperature can be surprisingly pleasant in the summer). Rent a paddleboat or kayak and explore the coastline. Play beach volleyball or frisbee with friends and family. Children will love the playground and the shallow waters. In the winter, Nallikari transforms into a winter wonderland, with opportunities for ice swimming and snow activities. The area also features restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy a meal or a snack with a view of the sea.
