Casa del Arbol, meaning "Treehouse" in Spanish, was originally built as a seismic monitoring station. The swing was added later as a fun way for the caretakers to pass the time. Over time, word spread about this unique attraction, and it quickly became a must-do for adventurous travelers visiting Baños. While the seismic monitoring station is still functional, it's the swing that draws the crowds. Beyond the iconic swing, Casa del Arbol offers other activities to enjoy. Explore the surrounding trails, take in the stunning views from the various viewpoints, and learn about the local flora and fauna. There's also a small cafe where you can grab a snack or a drink. While you're in the area, consider trying some melcocha, a traditional Ecuadorian taffy made from sugarcane.
