Playa Kalki (Alice in Wonderland) Guide
Playa Kalki: Dive into an Underwater Wonderland Guide
Playa Kalki, affectionately nicknamed "Alice in Wonderland," is a must-visit destination for snorkelers and divers exploring the western tip of Curaçao. This small, picturesque beach is renowned for its exceptional underwater visibility and vibrant marine life. Prepare to be mesmerized by the kaleidoscope of colors and the abundance of fish that call this reef home. While the beach itself is relatively small, the real magic of Playa Kalki lies beneath the surface. The name "Alice in Wonderland" perfectly captures the feeling of entering a fantastical underwater world. The reef is easily accessible from the shore, making it ideal for both beginner and experienced snorkelers and divers. The main activity at Playa Kalki is, of course, exploring the underwater world. Snorkel or dive among the colorful coral formations and encounter a diverse array of marine life, including parrotfish, angelfish, and even the occasional sea turtle. The beach also offers opportunities for sunbathing and relaxing. There's a dive shop on site where you can rent equipment and book guided dives. While there are limited food options directly on the beach, you can find restaurants and cafes in the nearby village of Westpunt.
