Sutivan Beach: A Sandy Oasis in Lumbarda Guide
Sutivan Beach, nestled in the charming village of Lumbarda on the island of Korcula, is a delightful sandy beach that offers a relaxing and family-friendly atmosphere. Unlike the predominantly rocky coastline of the region, Sutivan boasts soft sand and shallow waters, making it an ideal spot for swimming, sunbathing, and building sandcastles. With its picturesque setting and calm ambiance, Sutivan Beach is a perfect destination for those seeking a tranquil beach experience. While Sutivan Beach itself doesn't have a rich historical background, the village of Lumbarda, where it's located, has a fascinating history dating back to ancient times. The area was inhabited by Illyrians, Greeks, and Romans, leaving behind traces of their presence in the form of archaeological sites and cultural heritage. Lumbarda is also known for its unique Grk wine, a variety that has been cultivated in the region for centuries. At Sutivan Beach, you can enjoy a variety of activities. Swimming and sunbathing are the most popular, with the shallow waters making it safe for children. You can rent sun loungers and umbrellas for added comfort. There are also opportunities for water sports, such as kayaking and paddleboarding. Several cafes and restaurants are located near the beach, offering refreshments and delicious meals. Be sure to try some local seafood dishes and sample the famous Grk wine.
