Transportation
From San José, you can take a direct bus to Cartago from the Terminal de Buses de Cartago in San José. Buses run frequently throughout the day. Once in Cartago, the basilica is easily accessible by taxi or by walking from the central part of the city. Several local buses also stop near the basilica.
