Transportation
Getting to Maquenque Eco Lodge is an adventure in itself! The most common route is to fly into Juan SantamarÃa International Airport (SJO) near San José. From there, you can rent a car (4x4 recommended) and drive to Boca Tapada (approximately 3-4 hours). Alternatively, you can arrange for a private shuttle directly to the lodge. Some visitors also opt for a combination of public transportation and taxi, taking a bus to Boca Arenal and then a taxi or boat to the lodge.
