A Cozy Respite on the High Trail: Tea Horse Guesthouse Guide

Escape the ordinary and immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Tiger Leaping Gorge with a stay at the Tea Horse Guesthouse. More than just a place to rest your head, this guesthouse offers a unique cultural experience, blending comfortable accommodations with stunning views and a taste of local hospitality. Nestled along the High Trail, it's the perfect base for exploring the gorge's dramatic landscapes and connecting with fellow travelers. The Tea Horse Road, a network of ancient trade routes that snaked through the mountains of Southwest China, played a vital role in the region's history. This guesthouse pays homage to that heritage, offering a glimpse into the lives of the muleteers and traders who once traversed these paths. While the guesthouse itself is relatively modern, its design incorporates traditional elements and its location along the historic trail provides a tangible link to the past. At the Tea Horse Guesthouse, you can relax on the terrace and soak in panoramic views of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the Jinsha River far below. Enjoy delicious, home-cooked meals featuring local ingredients, often shared family-style with other guests. The guesthouse also serves as a convenient starting point for day hikes along the High Trail, allowing you to explore the gorge at your own pace. Don't miss the opportunity to sample local teas and learn about the region's rich cultural heritage from the friendly staff.
