Pei, whose ancestral home was in Suzhou, drew inspiration from the classical gardens of the region, incorporating elements like white walls, grey tiles, and geometric patterns to create a space that feels both modern and deeply rooted in tradition. The museum's collection spans thousands of years, showcasing ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, textiles, and other artifacts that tell the story of Suzhou's cultural evolution. Visitors can explore a wide range of activities at the Suzhou Museum. Wander through the permanent exhibitions to admire ancient Chinese art and artifacts. Attend temporary exhibitions showcasing contemporary art or specific historical periods. Take a guided tour to learn more about the museum's architecture and collection.
