Transportation
The most common way to reach Everest Base Camp (North Side) is by vehicle from Shigatse or Lhasa. Organized tours are readily available and often include transportation, accommodation, and permits. It's also possible to hire a private jeep and driver. The journey involves driving along the Friendship Highway and then taking a turnoff towards Rongbuk Monastery and the base camp. Public buses do not directly serve the base camp.
