Huangshan Tunxi International Airport Guide
Your Gateway to the Yellow Mountains Guide
Huangshan Tunxi International Airport (TXN) serves as the primary air transportation hub for the Huangshan region, providing convenient access to the stunning Yellow Mountains and surrounding areas. This modern airport connects Huangshan with major cities across China and a limited number of international destinations, making it a crucial entry point for tourists eager to explore this natural wonder. The airport offers a range of services to ensure a comfortable and efficient travel experience for all passengers. While not a historical site in itself, the airport's development is intrinsically linked to the growth of tourism in the Huangshan region. As the popularity of the Yellow Mountains increased, the need for a dedicated airport became apparent. The airport has undergone several expansions and upgrades to accommodate the growing number of visitors, playing a vital role in facilitating economic development and cultural exchange in the area. As an airport, the primary activity is, of course, air travel. However, the airport also offers services such as car rentals, taxi services, and shuttle buses to various destinations in the region, including Tangkou Town, the gateway to the Yellow Mountains. There are also restaurants and shops within the terminal where you can grab a bite to eat or purchase souvenirs before or after your flight. While the airport doesn't have a unique culinary tradition of its own, you can find local Huangshan specialties at some of the restaurants.
Transportation
The airport is located approximately 7 kilometers from Tunxi city center. You can take a taxi or the airport shuttle bus to reach the city center. The airport shuttle bus also connects the airport to Tangkou Town, the base for visiting Yellow Mountain.
