Transportation
Valle de la Luna is located approximately 13 km (8 miles) west of San Pedro de Atacama. The easiest way to reach the valley is by joining a guided tour from San Pedro. Many tour operators offer half-day or full-day excursions to Valle de la Luna. Alternatively, you can rent a bicycle in San Pedro and cycle to the valley, but be prepared for a challenging ride on unpaved roads. Taxis are also available, but they can be more expensive.
