The point was also used by Indigenous peoples long before European arrival, serving as a lookout and gathering place. The main activity at Old Fort Point is hiking to the summit. The trail is a moderate climb, with some steep sections and stairs, but the views from the top are well worth the effort. Allow about 1-2 hours for the round trip. Once at the top, explore the rocky summit, find a comfortable spot to relax, and take in the breathtaking scenery. It's a popular spot for photography, so bring your camera! Transportation
Old Fort Point is easily accessible from the town of Jasper. You can walk from downtown Jasper in about 15-20 minutes. Alternatively, you can drive and park in the designated parking lot at the base of the hill. From the parking lot, follow the well-marked trail to the summit.
