Long Set Beach (4K Beach) Guide
Unwind in Paradise: Discover the Serenity of Long Set Beach Guide
Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and discover the tranquil beauty of Long Set Beach, also known as 4K Beach, on the idyllic island of Koh Rong, Cambodia. This stunning stretch of golden sand, fringed with swaying palm trees and lapped by crystal-clear turquoise waters, offers the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. Whether you're seeking a peaceful escape, thrilling water sports, or simply a place to soak up the sun, Long Set Beach has something for everyone. While Long Set Beach doesn't boast a long or particularly significant history, its appeal lies in its natural beauty and relatively undeveloped state. Unlike some of the more crowded beaches on Koh Rong, Long Set Beach maintains a sense of serenity and tranquility. The name "4K Beach" is derived from its approximate length of 4 kilometers, providing ample space for visitors to spread out and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. Long Set Beach offers a variety of activities to keep you entertained. Swimming and sunbathing are, of course, the most popular pastimes. The calm, shallow waters are perfect for families with children. For the more adventurous, there are opportunities for snorkeling, kayaking, and paddleboarding. You can also take a boat trip to explore nearby islands and hidden coves. As the sun sets, Long Set Beach transforms into a magical place, with fire shows and beach barbecues creating a vibrant atmosphere. While Koh Rong doesn't have a unique culinary tradition, you'll find plenty of restaurants serving fresh seafood, Khmer cuisine, and international dishes. Be sure to try the *amok*, a traditional Cambodian curry cooked in a coconut.
Transportation
The primary way to reach Long Set Beach is by boat from the main pier on Koh Rong (Koh Touch). Several ferry companies operate regular services between Sihanoukville and Koh Rong, and from Koh Touch to Long Set Beach. Upon arrival at Koh Touch, you can either take a longtail boat directly to Long Set Beach (approximately 20-30 minutes) or walk along the beach path (approximately 45-60 minutes). The walk is a pleasant one, offering stunning views of the coastline, but be sure to wear appropriate footwear as the path can be uneven in places.
