Benderija refused to sell, holding out against all offers. Eventually, he agreed to sell the land only if the authorities moved his house, brick by brick, to the other side of the Miljacka River. The authorities, eager to proceed with their project, agreed to his terms, and the house was meticulously rebuilt in its current location. Hence, the name "Inat Kuća," meaning "House of Spite." Today, the Inat Kuća serves traditional Bosnian dishes in a cozy and atmospheric setting. Be sure to try the *Bosanski lonac* (Bosnian pot), a hearty stew of meat and vegetables, or the *klepe*, small dumplings filled with meat or cheese. Transportation
The Inat Kuća is located in the heart of Sarajevo, easily accessible on foot. From Baščaršija, simply walk east along the Miljacka River, past the Latin Bridge, and you'll see the restaurant directly across from the Vijecnica (City Hall). Trams also run along the main street parallel to the river; get off at a stop near the Latin Bridge and walk across.
