Crikey! Experience Wildlife Wonders at Australia Zoo Guide
Welcome to Australia Zoo, the legacy of the legendary Steve Irwin! This world-renowned zoo is more than just a place to see animals; it's an immersive wildlife experience dedicated to conservation and education. Prepare to be amazed by the incredible variety of creatures from around the globe, all housed in spacious and naturalistic enclosures. From cuddly koalas to majestic tigers, and of course, the iconic crocodiles, Australia Zoo offers an unforgettable day out for the whole family. Australia Zoo was founded by Steve Irwin's parents, Bob and Lyn Irwin, in 1970 as a small reptile park. Steve's passion for wildlife and conservation transformed it into the sprawling zoo it is today. The zoo is deeply committed to wildlife conservation through its various programs, including the Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors, which supports conservation projects worldwide. The Irwin family's dedication to protecting animals and their habitats is evident throughout the zoo. At Australia Zoo, you can get up close and personal with a wide range of animals. Catch the famous crocodile show in the Crocoseum, where you'll witness the incredible power and agility of these ancient reptiles. Hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies, cuddle a koala (subject to availability and regulations), and marvel at the colourful birds in the free-flight aviary. Don't miss the African Savannah exhibit, home to giraffes, zebras, and rhinos. The zoo also offers various tours and experiences, including behind-the-scenes tours and animal encounters.

The easiest way to reach Australia Zoo is by car. It's located on Steve Irwin Way, Beerwah. Public transport options are limited.
