Transportation
Access to Albany Island is primarily by boat from Loyalty Beach. Several tour operators offer guided tours and transfers to the island. Loyalty Beach is accessible by road, but a 4WD vehicle is recommended due to the unsealed roads. You can drive from Cairns or Cooktown, but be prepared for a long and challenging journey. Alternatively, you can fly into Bamaga Airport (ABM) and arrange for a transfer to Loyalty Beach. From Loyalty Beach, boat transfers to Albany Island are readily available.
