Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary Guide
Experience the Bush and Meet Native Animals in the Wild! Guide
Walkabout Wildlife Sanctuary, nestled in the heart of the NSW Central Coast at Kulnura, offers a unique and immersive wildlife experience. Unlike traditional zoos, this sanctuary allows animals to roam freely within a protected bushland environment. Visitors can wander through the sanctuary and encounter kangaroos, wallabies, emus, and other native Australian animals in their natural habitat. It's a chance to connect with nature and observe these creatures up close in a respectful and sustainable way. The sanctuary's philosophy centers around conservation and education. It provides a safe haven for rescued and rehabilitated animals, giving them a second chance at life. The sanctuary also plays an important role in educating the public about the importance of protecting Australia's unique biodiversity. Through guided tours and interactive experiences, visitors can learn about the challenges facing native wildlife and how they can contribute to conservation efforts. Visitors can participate in a variety of activities, including guided walks, Aboriginal cultural experiences, and animal feeding sessions. You can learn about traditional Aboriginal bush tucker and medicine, and even try your hand at boomerang throwing. The sanctuary also offers overnight camping experiences, allowing you to immerse yourself in the sounds and sights of the Australian bush.
