From the iconic Remarkable Rocks and Admiral's Arch to secluded beaches and tranquil walking trails, Flinders Chase has something for everyone. Established in 1939, Flinders Chase National Park has played a crucial role in preserving Kangaroo Island's unique flora and fauna. The park suffered significant damage during the 2019-2020 bushfires, but it is recovering and continues to be a vital sanctuary for endangered species. The park's history also includes early European settlement and farming, remnants of which can still be seen in some areas. Activities in Flinders Chase are plentiful. Hike along the numerous trails, ranging from short strolls to multi-day treks. Visit Remarkable Rocks and Admiral's Arch, two of the park's most famous landmarks. Keep an eye out for kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidnas, and a variety of bird species. The park also offers opportunities for camping, fishing, and surfing. While not directly within the park, nearby towns offer opportunities to sample local Kangaroo Island produce, including honey, seafood, and wine.
