Renaissance Island Guide
Flamingos and Private Beaches: Escape to Renaissance Island Guide
Escape the ordinary and discover paradise on Renaissance Island, a private island owned by the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. This idyllic oasis offers pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with flamingos. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, or simply a memorable experience, Renaissance Island promises an unforgettable day in the Aruban sun. Renaissance Island is divided into two distinct beaches: Iguana Beach, which is family-friendly and offers calm waters perfect for swimming, and Flamingo Beach, which is exclusively for adults and is home to a flock of friendly flamingos. The island also features a mangrove-lined lagoon, perfect for kayaking or paddleboarding, as well as a restaurant and bar serving delicious food and refreshing drinks. The main activities on Renaissance Island revolve around enjoying the beaches and interacting with the wildlife. Visitors can sunbathe on the white sand, swim in the turquoise waters, or simply relax in a hammock under the shade of a palm tree. Feeding the flamingos is a popular activity, and the island provides food for purchase. Snorkeling and diving are also available, allowing visitors to explore the vibrant underwater world. While the island's restaurant offers a variety of international cuisine, it doesn't have a specific Aruban culinary tradition. However, you can find authentic Aruban food back on the mainland in Oranjestad.
Transportation
Access to Renaissance Island is primarily for guests of the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. However, day passes are sometimes available for purchase, depending on hotel occupancy. The island is accessible only by private boat from the Renaissance Marina Hotel in Oranjestad. The boat departs regularly throughout the day.
