The monastery also served as a royal burial ground for the Kyurikid dynasty, further solidifying its importance. Over the centuries, Sanahin faced numerous challenges, including invasions and earthquakes, but it persevered, its enduring spirit reflected in its resilient architecture. Visitors to Sanahin Monastery can explore the complex of interconnected buildings, including the Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) Church, the Amenaprkich (All Savior) Church, and the library.
