Bird Park at Iguazu Falls Guide
A Symphony of Colors: Discover the Avian Wonders of Iguazu Guide
The Bird Park (Parque das Aves) at Iguazu Falls is a privately owned zoo located just outside the entrance to the Iguazu National Park on the Brazilian side. While technically in Brazil, it's easily accessible from the Argentinian side of the falls. This sanctuary is dedicated to the conservation and rehabilitation of birds from the Atlantic Rainforest and other South American ecosystems. It offers a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with a stunning array of colorful and exotic birds. Unlike traditional zoos, the Bird Park emphasizes immersive experiences. Many of the birds are housed in large, walk-through aviaries, allowing visitors to interact with them in a naturalistic setting. This approach promotes conservation awareness and provides a more enriching experience for both the birds and the visitors. The park plays a vital role in rescuing and rehabilitating injured or confiscated birds, contributing to the preservation of biodiversity in the region. Visitors can wander through the various aviaries, encountering toucans, macaws, parrots, flamingos, and many other species. The park also features a butterfly house, a reptile house, and a nursery where baby birds are cared for. Educational presentations and feeding demonstrations are offered throughout the day, providing insights into the birds' behavior and conservation efforts. The park also has a restaurant and gift shop.
