Cerro Campanario: Panoramic Views of the Lake District Guide

Cerro Campanario, though not directly in Dina Huapi, offers some of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Argentine Lake District, and is easily accessible from Dina Huapi. From its summit, you can gaze upon Lago Nahuel Huapi, Lago Moreno, Isla Victoria, and the majestic Andes Mountains. It's a must-visit destination for anyone seeking breathtaking scenery and unforgettable photo opportunities. While Cerro Campanario itself doesn't have a long or complex history, the surrounding area is rich in indigenous and colonial heritage. The mountain's name, "Campanario," means "bell tower" in Spanish, likely referring to its distinctive shape. The construction of the cable car in the mid-20th century made the summit accessible to a wider range of visitors, transforming it into a popular tourist destination. The main activity at Cerro Campanario is, of course, enjoying the views. A modern cable car whisks visitors to the summit in just a few minutes. At the top, you'll find a rotating confiteria (cafe) that allows you to enjoy the scenery while savoring a coffee or snack. There are also several viewpoints and walking paths that offer different perspectives of the surrounding landscape. The area around Cerro Campanario is known for its chocolate shops and artisanal products. Consider stopping at a local chocolatier for a sweet treat after your visit.

Transportation

From Dina Huapi, you can take a bus (Route 20 or 21) towards Bariloche and get off at the base of Cerro Campanario. Alternatively, you can hire a taxi or drive your own car. There is parking available at the base of the mountain.
